Sedgefield Community College Email Two Factor Authentication User Guide


Two factor authentication is now a requirement when logging into your school email account. To do this please follow the step by step guide below.


Step 1 – Download the required app

Download the Google Authenticator app to your mobile phone/tablet device, or if you have a Microsoft phone/tablet, download the Microsoft Authenticator app. Please see links below.

Microsoft - Get Microsoft Authenticator - Microsoft Store en-GB





Step 2 – Navigate to RM Unify

Log into RM Unify and select the ‘Mail’ tile.



Step 3 – Start the Two Factor Authentication Process

Click on the ‘Go to My Profile to setup MFA’ link.



Step 4 – Generate the Enrolment Code

Select the ‘Generate MFA Enrolment Code’ button.


Step 5 – Set the Two Factor Authentication in the app

Follow the instructions below to setup the Two Factor Authentication within the app and enter the code provided in the app.




Process Complete!

The process is now complete. Please click the Launch Pad button to return to the RM Unify homepage where you can access your email.


How Two Factor Authentication works

When you attempt to open your emails, you will be prompted to enter a 6-digit code. Open the app on your device that you used to enrol the two-factor authentication and enter the 6-digit code. Once this has been entered, you will then be able to access your email account.
