Office User Guide Install for Staff and Students

As a staff member or a student of Sedgefield, you can install Microsoft Office 365 on up to x5 devices - these can be laptops, PC’s, tablets or even mobile devices. To do this, please follow the guide below.

Once you have left the school, your license will then be revoked and it will no longer work.

Please keep at minimum x1 license free for your schools tablet device.


Remove any existing Office programmes

To do this please install the Office removal tool on this link and use ‘Option 2’ -


If you download this tool this will give you a step by step guide on how to remove Office from your PC, this is worth doing regardless whether you think you have Office installed or not.






Installing Office

Step 1 – Sign in to RM Unify

Open the web browser and type in

Please enter your school username and password and click Sign in.




Step 2 – Opening your mail

To open your mailbox, click on the mail tile.




Step 3 – Opening the tiles option

Click the tiles option in the top left on the mailbox page.



Step 4 – Opening Office homepage

Click on the Office 365 link in the top right of the navigation bar. 




Step 5 – Installing Office

Click Install Office and follow the wizard options to install Office. 



Step 7 – Activating Office

To activate your Microsoft Office you need to open one of the programmes such as Word, PowerPoint or Excel. Once you have done this, click the Sign in button in the top right of the page.


Please enter your school email address and password when signing into Office, you may have to sign into RM Unify again, this will then activate the Office suite.
